The kind of series that is good enough to hook & compel you but not quite up to the mastery needed to stick the landing. No doubt, part of that is due to the premature cancellation, but I also felt myself wane even as the mystery intensified. There's only so much mythmaking & plot puzzling I can take until I just want it to add up to something definitive. It plays too coy with its internal rules for me. Also, the actors have to carry a LOT on their shoulders, and I'm not sure they quite succeed.
