I’m currently waiting out another afternoon storm in my tent. Last night was full of campfires, shooting stars and ciders. We had plenty of laughs trying to chop kindling with my small forest axe. It’s harder than it looks! I have one more sleep here. Side note, my new Big Agnes sleeping pad is a game changer for comfort. I’ve never slept so good in a tent!

Watching Insidious again for a project and here are my thoughts so far. … this one feels predominantly handheld. Real loose, natural, almost doc-style in spots. But then there are these moments where the camera slows down and gets super steady, and it feels wrong in a rad way. Like when the entity shows up, the whole vibe shifts. Suddenly you’re not in the room anymore. You’re being watched. And then it slips right back into handheld like nothing happened. It’s subtle but you FEEL it.

I’ve had a pretty unhealthy habit of drinking energy drinks for the last idk how long. Three weeks ago I cold turkey’s them and replaced it with green tea. Now I don’t miss the at all.
I’m so grateful to have friends who love doing the same activities as I do. Who love just “winging it” without a plan. Who lift me up and embrace all my goofy whims. That’s how we end up in unbelievable, magical places like this. Camping / backpacking was how I learned to trust and love myself and , for me, nothing compares to it. Last night I slept with the rainfly off, in 45* air and woke up to a glass lake and majestic mountains. It’s healing.

Someone sent me a video today. The possibilities are terrifying. Could be real, could be a hoax... or it could be worse... #ghostvideos #ghosts
Watched Bring Her Back because I’m going to be DP’ing a project that’s pulling some visual inspiration from it. It’s a dark film. Not just in the way it looks, but in what it sits with. I’m usually pretty critical of these modern family-trauma horror stories. A lot of them feel like they just want to shock or suffocate you. But this one had heart. It didn’t feel like it wanted to punish the audience. It had something to say, and the characters felt real. I appreciate it the fact it didn't use grief as a set dressing. It had real opinions and I felt them.
