Berberian Sound Studio 2012
Been curious about this for years, and it's about as esoteric as I guessed. Fans of Giallo film, analog media, and fourth-wall-bending (not breaking, per se) directorial trickery should find oodles to love here. I'm not as enamored with the subject matter as some, but I still loved the craft & artistic vision. Begs to be heard in the best surround sound you can find. Ultimately, I'm not sure it adds up to much more than an inspired experiment, but as such, it's clever, thoughtful & haunting.
