I have such a problem with books. If i can't get into it within the first 20 - 40 pages.. I know myself enough to know i'm never going to finish that book.

My favorite writer said that she has dozens of books laying around her house that are open to page 16. She said if she isn’t captivated by page 16 , she doesn’t keep reading. I think that’s fascinating. The visual of her house filled with books laying open on page 16 but also the self awareness she had to discover that. But now when I read her writing … I’m intrigued always on page 16 - ha !
