Two punks live in Salt Lake City. The film covers their all-day routine. The realism of the character-narrated movie may be discussed. One of the punks gets ill, stays in hospital for three weeks, comes out again. Three parties are covered and one concert including a fight between punks, rednecks and others.

Watching this in 2026 has me feeling like I'm way, way late to the party, but I also know that I was not ready to fully appreciate SLC Punk until now thanks to how I've grown as a person, a philosopher, and an artist. If I had seen this before I fully understood anarchy (which is not disorder, as presented here, but simply equality of power), it would have kept me astray from the concept, I think, or at least made it harder to recalibrate. My partner was aghast when I said I hadn't seen this & basically had us watch it on the spot. Good call. Every complaint or criticism I can possibly think about this film ends up having a damn good reason for being & has me rethinking my own biases. Not a happy movie with a happy ending, but there is a happy spirit inside of it, so I see how it's a comfort film for many, especially anti-establishment types in landlocked Oklahoma.
Did not expect to love this so much, but I really, really did. Essential viewing.
